In the process of creating our class Matariki environment, students in Room 5 were engaged in a range of activities. One of the groups designed a ‘korowai’ and explained its significance, the other group investigated the importance of ‘ tukutuku’ panels and created a piece of art. Rest of the students were buzzing with Te Reo. It was ‘each one teach one’ process: addition and subtraction with Maori numbers and few even challenged themselves by designing a game of snakes and ladders as a quiz.
Well done Room 5!! We look forward to the boys leading ‘ Ki o Rahi’ and ‘Poi toa’ games.
