We imagined we were refugees travelling by boat to escape war and conflict.

We put ourselves in their shoes and wrote from a refugee child’s point of view.

Here is part of Nevaeh’s journal.

“Wednesday 30th March.

At dawn me and my family had to leave our country because it was in such bad condition.

We saw soldiers attacking people. We had to leave. I felt lost like a refugee.

I set off on a boat with my family.  I felt so frightened for the journey ahead.

What if we didn’t survive?  Would we still carry our lives into the future?

Will big waves crash onto our boat?  I don’t know what’s going to happen.”
