Library
Our library is a place for children to read quietly, research information and learn to enjoy reading books. The library has a wide selection of fiction, non-fiction, picture books as well as a pod of modern computers which can support childrens' learning. The children love coming to this space and enjoy being LIbrarians.
Our Librarians are from year 5-8 and they work very hard at their jobs with helping the younger students choose books, returning of books and locating interesting books on topics.
At lunchtime all students are welcome to play games and share books with each other.
We are very lucky to be a Duffy school and Duffy books are donated every year to the Library for our students to read. Our students enjoy the receiving of books from Duffy Books in Homes every year .This year we have had Jackie Clark from The Cat's Away. She was very inspiring with her talk about her career, music writing, book writing and lots of other things she is involved in.
We also enjoyed talking to Alison Quinsey who played Evonne on Shortland Street . We were very lucky to share her birthday with her on the day she visited us. Alison talked to us about the joy of Reading and her love of words especially with plays, rhymes and acting.
FATHER'S DAY ASSEMBLY.
All the students invited their Fathers to the special Assembly and we were very with the fathers who came. Every year we have a special book we give to a very special Father. This year we gave the book to John David for her work with the schooland helping with different school events. in her school work.
